NCAA plans electronic platforms for Passengers to lodge complaints

ncaa
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, is to establish a portal and other electronic platforms for air travelers to lodge all complaints when airlines and other service providers fail to live up to their responsibilities.

The NCAA’s Director-General, Captain Fola Akinkuotu, who gave this indication in Lagos, said the era where airlines treat passengers without dignity was over.
He said all complaints received would be treated with dispatch as the authority was going to deplore its personnel at airports nationwide to interact with passengers on quality of service delivery.
According to the NCAA boss, the Passengers Bill of Rights, which would come into effects at the end of this month, would serve as deterrent to airlines who abuse the rights of passengers without any redress.
Captain Akinkuotu said Nigeria could not afford to lag behind in the rights of passengers as their patronage was key to the survival of any business.
He said issues of baggage damage and pilferage would attract the attention of the NCAA, as scores of passengers had been affected by this ugly trend, which he said affects not only the airline, but also the ground handling companies.
Radio Nigeria aviation correspondent quotes Captain Akinkuotu as assuring Nigerians that the passenger’s Bill of Rights would be implemented to reduce infraction on their rights as air travelers.
